FAQs
What is Movement Practice?
'Movement Practice' is a method used to increase human capability through implementing exercise structures relative the wants/needs of the practitioner.
Is it like Cross-Fit?
Not exactly. The American hybrid-exercise method, Cross-Fit, berthed in 2000 by Greg and Lauren Glassman originally held ideas of using many disciplines to develop the body, which is similar to ideas in Movement Practice. Except by natural progression of commercialization it forced the method to select specific performance based movements to represent Cross-Fit.
How does 'Movement Practice' work?
First, identify attributes that you wish to acquire: fitness, strength, mobility, athleticism, any specific skill etc.
Second, find a coach who provides a map for the practitioner to structure a training program using progressive overload principles aimed toward desired attributes.
Third, practice until the desired attribute gets developed adequately over a period of time.
Fourth, as the practitioner transforms, the practice implemented needs to transform to continue further physical adaptations. Then the process starts over.
Proceeding like this over time will equip the practitioner with a wheel house of movement capability to express themselves and share with others. Effectively increasing the overall quality of day to day living.
